Public Places in Bacolod City to Have Free WiFi Access Soon
Selected public places in the City of Smiles will soon have a free access to WiFi after the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Bacolod City approved "The Wireless Connectivity Ordinance of Bacolod City" during the third reading.
According to Negros Daily Bulletin, the City ordinance aims to provide "free accessible and secured wireless connection in designated public places of Bacolod City and in certain offices of the City government, providing funds thereof and for other purposes."
The areas whic will be provided with free WiFi are Bacolod City Plaza, Bacolod Government Center fountain area, Bacolod Old City Hall (Fountain of Justice), Bacolod City Public library and all libraries in Bacolod high schools
Aside from the public internet hotspots, government offices will also be granted with the same feature. The City Health Office compound, entire building of Bacolod Government Center, Hall of Justice and Bacolod City Police office are among the offices which will be provided with free internet.
In public areas, free WiFi will only be available from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, while government offices can use the wireless connection during office hours only from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The Management and Information Technology Center Services (MITCS) will have the control over the free internet service.
Meanwhile, Bacolod City is now celebrating its 37th MassKara Festival. The festival was officially opened on October 1 and will end on October 23. This is the longest celebration of MassKara Festival in the history of Bacolod City.
