P600-Million Enchanted Kingdom to Rise in Silay City Before End of 2017

Third district Representative Albie Benitez confirmed that one of Asia's leading theme park Enchanted Kingdom will rise in Silay City, Negros Occidental before the end of 2017.

According to The Visayan Daily Star report, Benitez said that the groundbreaking of P600-million park will be held in the first week of December this year and will operate before 2017 ends. The exact location was not yet announced.

Benitez added that the theme park which will initially cover four hectares will have a bunch of themed rides, carnival, and amusement park similar to Enchanted Kingdom that currently operates in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Manila.

The Enchanted Kingdom in the city of Silay will be managed by Enchanted Kingdom Inc. headed by its president and chairman Mario Mamon. It is expected to boost the tourism in third district of Negros Occidental, as well as in the whole Negros Island Region.

Rumors about the about construction of park in the region began a few years ago. There were also unconfirmed reports that Enchanted Kingdom will open in Iloilo.

Enchanted Kingdom is the first and only world-class theme park in the Philippines with a land area of 25 hectares. It opened its doors to the the public in 1995, offering numerous rides and attractions unique to the country.

Meanwhile, Negrenses express their excitement on social media over the report, with some saying that they will no longer need to travel to Manila to experience the magic of Enchanted Kingdom
